Road safety is a top priority for the Capitol Region, and the CRCOG SS4A Transportation Safety Action Plan is paving the way to safer streets for everyone. Whether you walk, roll, drive, or get around some other way, your travel experiences and transportation safety concerns are key in helping to identify problems and priority areas for improvements. We need your help!
We received a USDOT Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant to supplement the Regional Transportation Safety Plan for the CRCOG region. The new federal SS4A grant program takes steps to formalize the Safe System approach in local safety planning documents through its Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (Action Plan) requirements. The Action Plan requirements are important now, because CRCOG municipalities seeking future SS4A implementation grant funds require an Action Plan. The eight components of an Action Plan are:
- Leadership Commitment and Goal Setting
- Planning Structure
- Safety Analysis
- Engagement and Collaboration
- Equity Considerations
- Policy and Process Changes
- Strategy and Project Selections
- Progress and Transparency
